We are all back seat drivers | A poem about free will

January 12, 2018

I found a poem on my phone recently. I can't remember exactly when I wrote it, but I thought it might be worth sharing with the world.

Here it is.

Back seat drivers

We feel like we are in control.

We feel like we are making decisions and choosing what to do.

This is the great illusion.

Life unfolds and expresses itself through us, yet we take ownership of whats happening.

Like backseat drivers, we feel the wheel is in our hands.

We sweat from the demands of driving, forgetting the greatest driver of all, life itself, still has both hands on the wheel.
